To satisfy the rising need for smooth travel, the project intends to improve the connection between India and important locations in the UK, Europe, Far East Asia, and Africa.
Improved Connectivity in the UK
The increased frequency will be advantageous for passengers flying on certain routes between India and the UK:
Delhi-London Heathrow: Three more weekly flights, for a total of 24 weekly flights, operated by the updated Boeing 787-9 and the cutting-edge Airbus A350-900.
Amritsar-Birmingham: There are now four weekly flights instead of just three.
There are now four weekly flights between Amritsar and London Gatwick, making it easier to go from Punjab.
The number of weekly flights between Ahmedabad and London Gatwick has increased from three to five, further solidifying Gujarat's relationship with the UK. Air India has modified its offerings in recognition of the growing demand for direct connectivity to Europe: There are now five weekly flights between Delhi and Zurich instead of only four. Delhi-Vienna: Added four weekly flights to improve accessibility to the capital of Austria.Air India plans to expand its service to important Asian citiesThe number of weekly flights between Delhi and Seoul (Incheon) has increased from four to five, serving both business and leisure passengers.Delhi-Hong Kong: To improve passenger comfort and capacity, the current daily service will switch from an Airbus A321 to a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.Increased Connectivity in Africa Increasing the number of weekly flights from Delhi to Nairobi from three to four will strengthen the airline's position in Africa. Air India will temporarily halt a few routes in order to manage operating capacity and allow for fleet retrofits:Mumbai-Melbourne: From March 30, 2025, to September 13, 2025, service was suspended.London Gatwick-Kochi: Indefinitely suspended as of March 30, 2025.In order to maintain connection for travelers heading to the UK, Air India will continue to run 12 weekly flights from Amritsar, Ahmedabad, and Goa to London Gatwick.Air India is well-positioned to strengthen global connectivity and provide its network's customers with a better travel experience thanks to these significant expansions and modernization initiatives.
