In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police have dismantled a major fake visa production operation in Tilak Nagar, West Delhi, leading to the arrest of three individuals. The bust was part of an investigation triggered by the arrest of Sandeep, a resident of Kurukshetra, who was caught with a counterfeit Swedish visa at the IGI airport on September 2.The operation was led by the airport unit of the Delhi Police, which uncovered a large-scale forgery ring managed by 51-year-old Manoj Monga. Monga, a graphic design expert, was found running an illegal factory that produced fake travel documents in mass quantities. Two additional agents, Ashif Ali and Naveen Rana, were also arrested as part of the investigation.During a raid conducted early last week, police seized a substantial amount of equipment used for producing forged documents. The haul included 30 fake visa stickers from various countries, 23 rubber stamps, counterfeit permanent residency cards from Italy, and several embossing tools. Authorities also recovered numerous Nepalese and Indian passports, along with gumming sheets, lamination sheets, watermark prints, and printed envelopes.The investigation revealed that Sandeep had sought the fake visa through agent Ashif Ali, paying a total of ₹7.5 lakh for the document. Sandeep's attempt to travel to Rome using the fake visa led to his arrest and subsequently exposed the larger forgery network.Further probing led to the arrest of freelance agents Balbir Singh and Jaswinder Singh, who identified Monga as the key figure in the counterfeit operation. Singh had approached Monga five years ago, providing him with the necessary equipment and orders to produce fake visas.The dismantling of this operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Delhi Police to combat illegal activities and maintain the integrity of immigration processes.
