In a significant move aimed at enhancing visa processing efficiency, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has officially selected VFS Global to manage its Schengen visa and residence permit services across 32 countries, including India. This partnership, which is set to take effect immediately, allows VFS Global to continue its role in facilitating short-term Schengen visa applications and residence permits, as well as biometric enrolment, covering a total of ten geographical regions worldwide. VFS Global has maintained a fruitful collaboration with the Finnish government since 2010, a decade-long partnership that has successfully processed more than 8.5 million visa applications on behalf of the Finnish authorities. This extensive experience has equipped VFS Global with valuable insights and expertise in managing complex visa processes efficiently, ensuring that applicants receive prompt and accurate services. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland expressed its confidence in this renewed agreement, highlighting several key factors that influenced its decision to continue working with VFS Global. Among these factors are the company’s impressive global reach, the high quality of biometric data collection, advanced technical capabilities, stringent quality control measures, effective risk management practices, and exceptional customer service. These elements are crucial for ensuring a smooth and professional visa application process for individuals seeking to travel to Finland. Under this partnership, VFS Global will be responsible for receiving visa applications, collecting biometric data and application fees, and forwarding these applications to the relevant Finnish diplomatic missions. However, it is important to note that the final decision regarding visa approvals will continue to rest solely with officials from Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs, ensuring that the integrity of the visa issuance process remains intact. Jiten Vyas, the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Business Development at VFS Global, expressed enthusiasm about the continuation of their partnership with Finland, stating, “We are genuinely delighted to continue serving the Government of Finland as their trusted service provider. Our long-standing partnership with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has been immensely rewarding, and we welcome the opportunity to renew our services. We are fully committed to offering visa applicants best-in-class solutions and ensuring a seamless application process across all ten regions globally.” This renewed agreement not only signifies the Finnish government's commitment to improving the visa experience for international travellers but also reflects VFS Global's ongoing dedication to enhancing service delivery through innovation and expertise in the field of visa processing. As the world gradually recovers from the disruptions caused by the pandemic, such partnerships are vital in facilitating travel and supporting the movement of people across borders.
