Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS)
In addition to the visa waiver, the South African Department of Home Affairs has launched the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS), which aims to simplify visa applications for Indian and Chinese travellers. Approved tour operators will now be able to submit group visa applications on behalf of their clients, expediting the process.
Benefits for Indian Tourists
Currently, around 16,000 Indian tourists visit South Africa each year. The visa waiver is anticipated to attract a larger number of visitors, with the goal of reaching 100,000 tourists by the end of 2025. Furthermore, the introduction of an eVisa system is planned to simplify the process even further.
