This streamlined approach is expected to expedite the visa process and eliminate bureaucratic delays that have previously hindered tourism.In a press release, the Department of Home Affairs explained, “The TTOS will facilitate a more efficient visa application process for tourists from non-visa exempt countries, including India and China. By allowing tour operators to handle group applications, we aim to make travel to South Africa more accessible and attractive.”South Africa is targeting a significant increase in Indian visitors, with a goal of raising the number of Indian tourists from 16,000 to 100,000 by the end of the year. Currently, Indian nationals constitute 3% of South Africa’s international visitors, and the government hopes to see this number grow as the visa process becomes more streamlined.In addition to the TTOS, South Africa is considering the introduction of a 90-day visa waiver for Indian and Chinese tourists. If approved, this waiver would allow visitors to stay in South Africa for up to three months without the need for a visa. This proposal is part of a broader strategy to simplify travel and attract more international tourists.

Submit Your Application
Book an appointment with VFS Global, the authorised visa application centre for South Africa in India. Submit your documents and pay the applicable visa fee.
Processing Time
Visa processing typically takes between 5-7 working days. Apply well in advance of your planned travel date.
Visa Fees
The visa itself is free of charge, but you will need to pay an application and logistics fee ranging from Rs. 2,300 to Rs. 3,000, plus a convenience fee of Rs. 160.
